2. Use your personal workspace

Almost everything in OpenApp (integrations, devices, API keys) lives inside an organization (“org”). When you finish Create account (including accepting the terms when asked), OpenApp creates a personal workspace for you—an org where you are admin. The org switcher shows each org’s display name, not the words “personal workspace”. After Create account, look for something like Sam’s workspace or My workspace (from your account name).

Use one org for this guide—the one you admin:

  1. Open Resources from the main nav. After sign-in you land on Home, which does not show the org switcher.
  2. At the top of the Resources page, open the org switcher (labeled Organization).
  3. Select your personal workspace and leave it selected for every step below:
    • If several orgs appear, pick the one named for you (see above), not a shared team or site org.
    • If the only org is not yours, Create account so you get a personal workspace for this guide.

Your org for this guide is not a fixed address in the link bar; the org switcher on Resources pages is how you select it. When this guide points you to Integrations or other Resources screens, keep the same org selected.

Do not switch to other orgs while you follow this guide; they may be shared spaces with different permissions and will only slow you down here.

With that org selected in the org switcher, every Resources and Integrations screen in this guide applies to it. The next step spells out roles so it is clear why the controls you need are available (and what would differ in someone else’s org).
