Physical access control
Control doors and gates from your phone
OpenApp is physical access control for homes, buildings, and organizations. Open the entrances you are allowed to use, decide who else may, and grant access that expires—without a separate app for every device.
What you can do
Open from the phone
Entrances each person is allowed to use, in one app—a home gate or a campus door.
Who may enter which doors
Roles and permissions that scale from a household to a campus, including who may invite others. Not a flat list of keys.
Access that expires
Grant entry for a visit, a stay, or a contractor window. Recipients open from the phone.
Choose your hardware
Many makers, reasonable prices
Keep the doors and gates you have, or mix reasonably priced hardware from more than one manufacturer.
Their software often stops short
Vendor apps and optional clouds are built for a single home or a single brand, not multi-user, multi-site access.
OpenApp is the management layer
One place for invitations, visitor calls, policies, and audit—across whatever hardware you chose.
FAQ
- What is OpenApp?
- Physical access control for homes, buildings, and organizations. Open doors and gates from the phone, decide who may enter which doors, and grant access that expires.
- Can I mix hardware brands?
- Yes. Keep the doors and gates you have, or mix reasonably priced hardware from more than one manufacturer. OpenApp is the unified management layer. The supported list is on the integrations page.
- Do guests need an account?
- Usually no. Time-bound access opens from the phone. People who want native visitor calls install the intercom app.
- Is this a fire or escape-door system?
- No. OpenApp is ingress-only software, not a listed fire or escape-door system. Occupants must be able to exit without a phone or the cloud. See Compliance.
